Yet it is a 10 min stroll along a quiet country road from the medieval village of Duras with its spectacular fortified Chateau standing guard at the head of the square and its good selection of shops, restaurants, bars and twice weekly market.

From this base you can enjoy the delights of one of France’s most varied rural landscapes – beautiful bastide towns, Romanesque churches, windmills, fields of vines and sunflowers and gastronomic delights such as foie gras, truffles, confit, and Agen prunes.

You can enjoy boat trips along the rivers and canals. Or wine tasting in the hundreds of chateaux surrounding Bordeaux and Bergerac; from the world famous reds of St Emillion to the sweet whites of Monbazillac. Or just sit by the swimming pool and enjoy the glorious sunshine.
