This is the prefect place from which to base your local sight seeing. The area is largely unspoilt but abounds with things to see and do. From local markets, a village locally has a market every day of the week – and some even have night markets, which includes entertainment. Being very rural the area is very popular with walkers, hikers, cyclists – with many routes are available from our reception or the local tourist bureau.
For the wine lovers we are on the border of the Bordeaux and Bergerac regions, with many chateaux and vineyards offering wine tasting and a full tour of the chetaeu and winery.
The larger towns of Bordeaux and Bergerac are both very close and well worth a day out, maybe stopping off at St Emilion to buy a bottle of the most famous wine in the World. Or perhaps a leisurely trip down the Dordogne by boat – or for the more adventurous by Kayak or Canoe.
For the children there is plenty to keep them happy – with things like the waterparks, Go-karts, white water, Jetskis and water sking on local lakes, cycling, and fishing.

When it all gets too much - laze about by the pool, while the children play table tennis, table football, mini golf, climb the frame or use the swings and other equipment.
In the evening why not take a short walk along the quiet road into the village of Duras, sit in one of the bars and watch the world go by – or if you’re lucky, there maybe something happening in the chateau or grounds, an opera, music, or a show, so much happens there.
